She Found Joy

Here she is, searching for joy. She found it.

This painting is tiny - 4 x 4 inches. I wanted to try to fill a very small space with a lot of little, special things.

Your Adventure is Waiting ... Set Sail

I think I made this to inspire me to go on more adventures. It's been a long time since I've had a good, solid adventure! Life these days is more P.T.A. meetings, laundry, and spreadsheets.

I need to keep the spirit of adventure alive throughout the day-to-day chores.

Illustration Friday - Tribute

This image is a tribute to our big, beautiful world.
I'm glad I live here. Home Sweet Home.

There are a lot of crazy things going on in the world these days, so I made this image to remind me about all the beautiful, amazing things I love about our world. There's a lot to love!

In a Far-Away Land - Final Layer

This is a land I dream of -- flowers, stars, tiny homes.

I added the final layer to my painting. It's only 7 x 7 inches so there's a lot packed in there.

It's been a hard week, with a tragedy in my hometown, so I wanted to create a new little world, sweet and peaceful.

Illustration Friday - Jump

She jumped on her wolf, and set off to see the world...

This painting was inspired by the quote: "Myths are public dreams, dreams are private myths" - Joseph Campbell

(This continues my experimentation-smorgasbord-of-techniques-and-materials. I figure that if I try everything, I'm bound to have a breakthrough eventually.)

Illustration Friday - Suspense

Inspired by the epic tales of long ago--full of adventure, mystery and suspense.

Every culture has their own versions: may they live on forever!

Illustration Friday - Forward

When you're on your Hero's Journey, you are always moving forward!

Inspired by Joseph Campbell's quote about the hero's journey: "What I think is a good life is one hero journey after another. Over and over again, you are called to the realm of adventure, you are called to new horizons."

Journey to your Dreams: By Air

This is the next collage in my Journey to your Dreams series. Of course, following your dreams can be hard work. But the journey to your heart's desire is supposed to be FUN! This is intended to remind you to enjoy the adventure along the way.

Journey to your Dreams: By Sea

She had a burning desire to see the world! Nothing less would do. Bon Voyage!

I'm starting to make collages on wood panels to sell on my Etsy site. This one is part of my "Journey to your Dreams" series. It is meant to inspire one to take risks and go for it! Even if you never make it to your destination, it can be a magical journey along the way. Does your heart have a dream it burns for?

Illustration Friday - The Rescue

It was time for her to rescue her heart from the depths. Luckily, she was a strong swimmer.

Illustration Friday - Brave

Despite every single thing going wrong, she remained brave and continued on her journey.

Hang in there.

Sometimes giving up is just not an option. Even though you really, really want to.

Illustration Friday - Strong

She gathered her strength and faced her fears. They put up a good fight, but they were no match for her!

(I've been meaning to make this image for over a year now, but I put it off because I didn't think that making a 'Fear Fighter' would be very fun. But, of course, it was!!!)

Time for a Change

"Your adventure is waiting. Be brave and set sail!"

Change can be so scary-- sometimes we have to remind ourselves that it can be exciting too.

Illustration Friday - Impatience

As she headed for her dreams, she realized she would have to learn about patience-- because this was obviously going to be a long, long journey.
